Pension reform: millions of Ukrainians will increase social benefits

The government promises to revise the pension of 9 million people.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in first reading bill No. 6614 “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on increasing pensions”, changes the principles for calculating pensions in the future and also provides for the recalculation of pensions to current pensioners from 1 October 2017.

According to the government, this will lead to the fact that 1 million 108 thousand people, the pension will grow by more than 1,000 hryvnia. Another 1 million 993,5 thousand citizens will receive a pension in amount from 500 to 1000 UAH. Pensions 1 million 209 thousand people will increase in the amount of 200 to 500 UAH. And 1 million 308 thousand pensioners payments will increase by 200 hryvnia.

In total, the government promised to revise the pension of 9 million people.
