The fare

According to the document, which comes into force on 15 July 2017, the cost of a single trip in the metro will be 5 UAH.

The transportation of privileged categories of citizens will be carried out in accordance with current legislation.

The reasons for the price increase

The head of the CP Kiev metro Victor Bragin cited several reasons for the rise in price of travel in the metro. According to him, this decision is connected with growth of tariffs for electricity and translation company in the category industrial.

In addition, the metro authorities have increased the minimum wage employees up to 3200 UAH in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet.

The opportunity savings and the use of plastic cards

After a rise in price when buying 50 trips the cost of one will be 4.5 UAH.

The old tokens will be valid until the end of July

The passengers of Kyiv metro will be able to use tokens and one-time tickets for ground transportation, purchased before the rise in price of travel till July 31. To exchange the old coins and old paper tickets with a new surcharge till new tariff or in proportion to the new rate for the 1st trip passengers will be able till August 31. This can be done at four stations: the independence square, Shevchenko district, Polytechnic Institute and Darnitsa (lobby No. 2).
