Pamfilova asked not to throw a tantrum about multi-day voting
The CEC head Ella Pamfilova has asked parties and candidates not to throw a tantrum about multi-day voting in elections in September.
“I absolutely do not understand this information hysterics about that, they say, as well, what a mess, was allowed to vote three days. Colleagues, spreading his hands in surprise. We have half of the European countries regularly hold elections, and in many countries, not only for three days,” — said Pamfilova at the meeting of the CEC. It is quoted by TASS.
According to Pamfilova, the CEC creates “optimal conditions” for the vote to be able to attract the maximum number of observers to monitor electoral processes. However, she urged the party better to campaign supporters, if they want fair elections. “And no need to cover up political weakness is their hysteria about possible fraud and the inability to attract supporters,” — said Pamfilova.
The CEC previously announced multi-day voting in elections in September 2020. They will be held for three days from 11 to 13 September. In this case, 11 and 12 September will be allocated for early voting. This mechanism was tested by voting on amendments to the Constitution, which was also the stage — took place from 25 June to 1 July.
In September 2020, will pass elections of different levels in all 83 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In particular, in the four regions will pass elections of deputies of the state Duma, in 11 regions will elect members of the legislative Assembly, 18 the direct election of governors, heads of two more regions — Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous districts to elect the deputies of the regional legislative assemblies.
Opponents stretched a vote to indicate that this format will significantly hinder the monitoring of transparency and purity of elections, and will require a substantial increase in funding for its preparation and conduct. It is pointed out polls about multi-day voting, which the CEC posted in social networks. The majority of respondents were against this procedure.
