The standing Committee of the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe have refused to hold a debate on the renewal of the voting rights of the Russian delegation to the Assembly. About in Facebook said the head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Ariev.
“Postkom PACE just refused to hold a debate on the return of the Russian Federation in PACE. But there will be a debate on the topic Democracy is broken – what’s the answer. I am glad that the PACE set priorities”, – Aryev wrote.
As reported, on October 11, PACE adopted a resolution, which could create the conditions for the lifting of political sanctions on the Russian delegation.
In 2014, Russia is deprived of the basic powers in PACE for unleashed aggression against Ukraine. Representatives of the Russian Federation will not be able to work in the governing structures of the Assembly and to participate in monitoring the elections.
