OSCE: Minsk discussed the special status of Donbass

In the course of negotiations of the Trilateral contact group political sub-group discussed the possibility of ensuring special status of certain regions of Donbass (ORDO) according to the Minsk agreements.

This was stated by the special representative of the OSCE in the trilateral contact group Martin Sajdik.

He gave no details of the talks.

“After the summer break, I feel in the Trilateral contact group’s determination to give new impetus to our work to ensure the population is more tranquil autumn”, – said Sajdik.

The next meeting of the Contact group on settlement in Donbass is scheduled for September 20.

Also, the format of the Minsk talks on 6 September worked as a humanitarian sub-group, subgroup on safety and the subgroup on economic issues. The participants raised including relevant questions on payment for supplied water in ORDO, as well as issues of pensions.

We will remind, the Plenipotentiary representative of Russia in the Trilateral contact group on settling the situation in Donbass Boris Gryzlov insists that the entry of peacekeepers to the region should be preceded by the approval of the Kiev special status of Donbass.
