The fugitive Deputy of Ukraine Aleksandr Onishchenko has filed documents to obtain German citizenship a few months ago. This was announced by the mayor of the village Herzlake Hans Becken in an interview with Deutsche Welle.
Baskin expects that soon Onishchenko will receive a German passport. The head of the community personally helps him to obtain German citizenship, in particular, appealed to a higher court with a letter in which he noted the prominent role that the Ukrainian multimillionaire plays for his community.
“I asked several times about the state of Affairs. As I was given to understand, the process is progressing well. I doubt that all will be able to do so quickly, however, on current information, all should be resolved positively,” – said Becken.
According to him, Onishchenko, who owns in the community a big estate with stables for training of sport horses in the summer have registered Herzlake residence. Given the long legal residence status in Germany and the absence in this country of criminal cases against him, he obviously meets the criteria for citizenship.
In addition, Onishchenko promised the mayor that in the future will invest in the organization to Herzlake international competitions in equestrian sport at the highest level. About the problems with the law, Sohn villager village head heard, however, “does not undertake to give this assessment”.
