On the Russian market may remain only one Honda model

SUV Honda Pilot will soon leave the Russian market because the Japanese company does not intend to renew expiring at the end of December approval of a vehicle type for this model. About it writes the edition Motor.ru citing two sources on the market, although the company information about leaving the Pilot out of the market denied.

Currently, to purchase a Honda Pilot in Russia at a price of 3.2 to 3.8 million rubles. The car is offered with a three-liter engine capacity of 249 horsepower and all-wheel drive. The second Honda model in the Russian market is the CR-V crossover, which is imported from USA and the UK. American machine Assembly supplied with the engine volume of 2.4 liters and capacity of 186 horsepower. In the UK plant for Honda CR-V put two-liter 150-horsepower engine. Thus in 2021 the company plans to close the plant in the UK – as a result, in Russia model: CR-V will be available with the only possible engine.

Recall, the Honda is not the official representative in Russia in 2016, so the dealers order the cars directly from Japan. According to the online publication, from January to October, 2019, were sold in Russia 1472 new Honda car, including the number 1286 cars CR-V and 186 – Pilot. Compared to the same period last year sales of Japanese brand cars in Russia fell by 63%.

We will remind, in June it was reported that in 2019 on the Russian market officially sold 275 models of new passenger cars 48 marks. Compared to 2014, this figure decreased by 31.4 per cent in Russia then sold 401 model. Such a small range on the market last seen in 2005, when Russia sold machines only four Chinese brands. Now the number of Chinese companies, whose vehicles are sold in Russia, is 11. The reduction in the number of models came on the market in 2015-2016, when it fell from 401 model first to 375, and then to 326. In 2017-2018, the number of models was kept around 300 units.
