Hurrah! A series of foreign horror “Masters of horror” from AST (Astrel-SPb) broke his third book – a novel Graham Masterton “Sacrifice” (Prey). Today a book can start to look in Internet-shops or alive “on the ground”. Gradually outlets will become more, so don’t miss out. But don’t over tighten, because all may not be enough: the edition of just 2,500 copies. Thus according to representatives of publishing the first two volumes of the series (“Judgment day” Adam Neville and “Initiation” of Laird Barron’s) are going very well. Actually, including and therefore the circulation of the third book increased by 500 copies.

David Williams arrives at the Isle of Wight to repair an old Victorian mansion Fortyfoot house, hoping to bounce back after a nasty divorce with his wife. But the first night he hears some loud noises in the attic, the afternoon sees the ghosts of long-dead people have abandoned chapel nearby and then discovers that the locals Fortyfoot house is notorious that for a century it is associated with the disappearance of children throughout the County and a legend about a terrible monster named Brown Jenkin.
Only this is no ordinary Ghost story. The evil that settled in Fortyfoot house, much worse and more powerful than any Ghost, and the life of David soon turns into an unspeakable nightmare in which people are dying, and past, present and future are woven into a single unbroken thread.
“Sacrifice” – wallowy novel in Russian, published for the first time. I must say that this is the first official publication of the major forms of Masterton in the post-Soviet land. In nineties we have published several of his horror novels, but neither the author nor a literary agent about these publications knew nothing. It turns out, “the Sacrifice” – to some extent a kind of debut. The original book was published in 1992. It belongs to the universe of the Cthulhu Mythos, to free continuation of ideas (and worlds) of Howard Phillips Lovecraft.

Since things in the series is going good, now in the edition are assessing plans for the future. We know that soon will see the light of novel Ramsey Campbell’s “the Grin of the dark” (may) and a collection of short stories by Thomas Ligotti “Songs of a dead dreamer” (June). Summer the publishers is considered low season, so we are unlikely to see new products. But in the autumn we are likely to see something interesting. The specifics on this issue yet, but the continuation of the line of foreign horror fiction clearly does not stall until sale pleasing a publisher. Will keep my fingers crossed and monitor developments. Well, to share information here, in the “Zone Horror”.
