The Minister of infrastructure considers that robust competition will benefit everyone in Ukraine.
In Ukraine there should be private freight and passenger carriers zheleznodorozhnye. This opinion was expressed by Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian.
“There must be private operators of locomotives, passenger trains. And then, in competition with all will receive the best product, including “Ukrzaliznytsya”, – said Omeljan.
He stressed that it is not about selling the company, and its reform.
According to the Minister, many of the company “artificially reduce
t production”, because can not transport all of its products due to the lack of resources in the “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
“And this despite the fact that the main funds “Ukrzaliznyts” worn. And we will have problems in the coming months, and after two or three years unless radical measures to reform the company,” said Omeljan.
9 August 2017, the government dismissed pole Wojciech Balczun as head of “Ukrzaliznytsya”, as he wrote a letter of resignation.
