The court left behind bars the ex-COP who tried to abduct and take to Russia of a businessman.
The Kyiv court of appeals upheld the decision of Pechersky court about prolongation of arrest of the suspect in the preparations for the kidnapping, which at the time of the crime was the chief of police of Kiev region.
It is reported by the regional Prosecutor’s office.
“Thanks to the principled and active participation of Prosecutor’s office of Kiev region court of Appeal of Kyiv upheld the decision of Pechersky district court of Kyiv on the extension of the validity of a measure of restraint in form of detention to the suspect”, – stated in the message.
Man charged with committing criminal offenses under part 1 of article 14, part 3 of article 146 (preparation for kidnapping committed by an organized group) and part 2 of article 15, part 3 of article 369 (completed attempt at giving undue advantage to an official) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
