“No need to excite the public”

Defining the border between Dagestan and Chechnya was postponed to next year

Defining the new borders between Chechnya and Dagestan postponed until next year. This decision was taken by the Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in North-Caucasian Federal district (skfo) Alexander Matovnikov, Chairman of the people’s Assembly of Dagestan Khizri Sasai.

“The decision at the level of Ambassador this year is no dividing action to take, to reschedule for next year, have a good prepare, examine documents, and in the following year to continue this work given the fact that will involve municipal leaders, the Jamaat and all this will be done openly and transparently”, — quotes Khizri Shihsaidova the edition “Kommersant”.

According to Shihsaidova, “we do not need to excite the public”, it is necessary to work with young people, because those “who are older are well aware of this situation.” “No need to shake anything [should] call for prudence and we will solve all problems. Many times it happened, and we always sought justice,” added shihsaidov.

We will remind, on June 10 in Dagestan Kizlyar unrest occurred due to the pointer of the border between Dagestan and Shelkovskoy district of Chechnya. It all started in social networks has spread a video in which a resident of Dagestan pointed to the road sign “the Chechen Republic. Shelkovskaya district” and expressed the opinion that “the territory of the Kizlyar became a territory of the Chechen Republic”. Then at the border from both sides gathered people, Chechens and Dagestanis started to sort out relations on the raised tones.

In stepped the head of Dagestan, Vladimir Vasilyev, who stated that “the area where you put one sign on a Federal road and two signs on regional, is a territory where neither of Dagestan or the Chechen Republic have claims to each other there.” “I reiterate: while I’m working here, not a single meter of territory of Dagestan will not be anyone given unilaterally. Well, multilaterally — when the time comes, we will consult, decide, hold gatherings,” — said Vasilyev.

Previously, because of the issue of the borders with Chechnya were the excitement in Ingushetia. So, on March 26-27 in Magas passed first agreed with the authorities, and then — a spontaneous rally against the changes of the border with Chechnya and the rules of the referendum. Security forces on 27 March, three times made attempts to disperse the protesters, but every time retreated under the onslaught of the crowd. During the clashes, the activists were thrown at security forces sticks, bottles, chairs and metal railings. The evening of March 27, protesters blocked the Federal highway “Kavkaz” near Nazran. Traffic was paralyzed around the so-called “ekazhevskogo circle”.
