Nissan has unveiled the design and features of the new electric cars

Sales of the updated Nissan Leaf in Europe will begin early next year.

New electric car from Nissan has proprietary system is semi-automatic control ProPilot. The equipment included a laser scanner that determines the exact distance between the car and surrounding objects, as well as the system of the circular review.

Electronics can operate the steering, keeping the vehicle on a given band, as well as control the accelerator and brake. The car can run parallel, diagonal or perpendicular Parking both front and reverse. Controls the steering, accelerator and brake electronics. ProPilot function works on both the highway and in busy city traffic.

In addition, the car was fitted with the new help system when driving under the name e-Pedal. At the push of a button on the centre console, the system makes the accelerator pedal e-Pedal. With the help of her driver can speed up or slow down the movement and stop the vehicle. For example, when the driver fully releases the accelerator, automatically applied regenerative and mechanical brake, whereby the vehicle is completely stopped. The car can be held in place even on the ascending slope until is pressed again the accelerator pedal.

The hatchback has got developed aerodynamic design, the body of the model was developed based on the structure of the aircraft wing. He became more squat that minimize the lifting force and provide better vehicle stability at high speeds and strong gusts of crosswind. Length of the electric vehicle is 4,480 mm, a width of 1,790 mm. The wheelbase is 2,700 millimeters. Machine weight is 1,535 pounds.

Driver available system of emergency braking, camera circular review, monitoring of moving objects, the function of control over the crossing of the line markings and warning system about the objects moving in the transverse direction behind the vehicle.

Nissan Leaf second-generation equipped with a synchronous electric motor, developing 110 kW (150 HP) and 320 Nm of torque. For example, the first generation model is equipped with engine capacity 80 kW (109 HP). The engine will be powered by batteries with a capacity of 40 kilowatt-hours. Power reserve of new items is 378 kilometers. The maximum speed of 144 km per hour.

In the future, Nissan plans to use the platform Leaf patterns of second-generation other electric cars. In particular, the Japanese plan to build on this architecture “green” crossover. It is expected that the new SUV will be called Terra — this is the name Nissan is registered in the patent office of Malaysia.

The production version of the crossover will be equipped with the Terra electric unit and the battery from the model of the second generation Leaf, which will allow to pass electrocare to 550 km without recharging. The architecture of the new Leaf involves the installation of another electric motor on the rear axle, so Terra could be a version with all-wheel drive.
