News: Hayley Atwell will star in Director Manchester by the sea

Hayley Atwell (“Agent Carter”) will play a major role in the television adaptation of the novel of Edward Morgan Forster’s “Howards &” (“Howards End”), which deals with the Director and screenwriter of the drama “Manchester by the sea” Kenneth Lonergan. A four-part mini-series of the joint BBC and Starz production, the key role have also been approved by Matthew Macfadyen (“Ripper Street”) and Tracey Ullman (“How I met your mother”). The drama will tell of the social changes occurring in England at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries on the example of three families: the intellectuals-idealists, Schlegel, successful businessmen Wilcoxon and people from working class Bastow.
Atwell will play Margaret Schlegel, the Macfadyen – Henry Wilcox, and Ullman – aunt Julie Mund.
Duties of the Executive producers will share Colin Callender, Joshua D. Morer, Alexander Witlin, David A. stern and others.
Shooting “Howards End” will be held in London and the surrounding area. Broadcast the mini-series will channels BBC One and Starz.
Based on the novel of Forster, published in 1910, in 1992 for the film “the Manor hauards End” with the participation of Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter, Vanessa Redgrave and Emma Thompson. The film received three Oscars.
BBC One has announced the beginning of work on adaptation of the novel at the end of 2015, long before Lonergan has attracted worldwide attention to the drama “Manchester by the sea,” which received six nominations for “Oscar 2017”, the results of which will be announced on 27 February 2017.
