Lesbians, religion and the paranormal deadly force is only for adults. At least a fresh video dubbed in Norwegian Thriller “Thelma” in this highly assures. But the new frames I’ve not noticed, and indeed the first Russian trailer was more informative.
Recall what it was about:
Thelma enters the University and for the first time begins to live separately from their parents, devout Christians. The girl did not give in to temptations, do not drink or smoke, but some things can not resist — she’s attracted to another girl. Awakening feelings and desires suddenly unleash its frightening dark powers. When a friend of Thelma disappears, she realizes that this may be her fault…
The role of Thelma takes Ellie Jarboe (“Kiss me, stupid”), harsh religious girl’s father played Henrik Rafaelsen (“Blind”).
The Director Joachim Trier (“Louder than bombs”), and the script they wrote together with the by Eskil Vogt (“Oslo, 31 August”).
Says critic Peter Bradshaw in his review for The Guardian:
This is a movie with hints of classical elements of the films of Hitchcock and de Palma. And the most exciting and terrifying scene, where the heroine must undergo, during which it is connected to elektroentsefalogrammy, reminiscent of moments from the film “the exorcist”.
Sounds very good to me. And it looks even better.
In cinemas, “Thelma” is coming next week — November 23.
