The proposal of the Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin to oblige the Russians to inform the authorities about his visit “bad fits in the existing international practice.”
This was stated by the Deputy recognized as illegitimate in Ukraine, Russian state Duma Mikhail Emelyanov.
“I don’t know, somewhere in the world this system was used and worked. It is need a very complicated mechanism to work — notification, registration notice. This is some fantastic proposals,” he added.
According to Emelyanova, the introduction of a visa regime between Ukraine and Russia is impossible “with all the desire of the Kiev authorities”, as among Nations ostensibly retained close ties.
“They need to think of something or something good to move away from this idea of introducing a visa regime, and they offer not very serious, not very elaborated proposals”, — said the Deputy.
The Senator Sergei Tsekov called the idea of the Ukrainian authorities “not just stupid, but stupid on the verge of absurdity”.
“It’s impossible to do simply because they want to. This idea is technically very difficult to implement. Also among the visitors to Ukraine citizens of Russia very many ethnic Ukrainians. In Ukraine they have relatives, they come to their homeland,” — said Tsekov.
