The world famous “the Saga of the Witcher”, owned by Peru of the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, interested in the company Netflix, and that it plans to release its TV serial adaptation. And because the service pleases us very good projects like “house of cards”, “Daredevil” and “Very strange things,” this news is not inspiring.
Maybe the guys have decided that after the “Game of thrones” niche dark fantasy is free, and it would be necessary to occupy it until the promised spin-offs from HBO are not passed over? Anyway, I’d looked at the Witch from Netflix.

I love that Netflix will remove the film adaptation of my books, keeping the original and saving the issues I raised over thirty years of work on the books.
It is known that the writer will be the creative consultant on the project. And production will be engaged in the production company, Sean Daniel Company, in cooperation with the Polish visual effects Studio Platige Image, who previously worked on film commercials for the games “the Witcher”, and also planned to produce a feature film, but with a rather modest budget.
Netflix plans more interesting. Here says Executive producer Sean Daniel, known for his work on the franchise about “the Mummy”:
“The Witcher” tells the story of how one gets an unusual family in the struggle for truth in a dangerous world. The characters are original, funny and constantly surprising. We can’t wait to spice things up on Netflix.
In other words, the guys are going to gradually adapt the entire long history of Geralt until the moment when he has formed the most “unusual family”.
I must say, very literary cycle is not too polished corresponds to the canons of epic fantasy. In fact, this postmodern rethinking of the genre with hardcore and realism. And all this for ten years before “Song of ice and fire” written by George R. R. Martin.
Over the years, and development (at the moment by Sapkowski written eight books) “the Witcher” has received many incarnations. Was and comic books and Board game and RPG series started by the game The Witcher, and the Polish miniseries with Michal Zebrowski in the title role. I would like to think that this time it will be much cooler. Fortunately, it took such serious dudes like Netflix, mentioned Sean Daniel, and another by Executive producer Jason F. brown, who already worked together with Daniel on a science fiction series “Space”.
In short, more dark fantasy, good and different.
