NASA has no money for a mission to the Red planet.
National space Agency lacks the money for landing on the surface of Mars.
Shortage of funds, said Deputy NASA administrator on issues of manned space operations William Gerstenmaier.
“I can’t name the date of landing a man on Mars, and the reason for this is, in fact, is at the level of the budget. Now the launch, descent and landing on Mars is a huge problem for us. NASA have only 40 percent of the required budget,” said William Gerstenmaier.
As noted, the SLS rocket and Orion vehicle cost the Agency quite expensive. As a result, NASA could not even begin designing a vehicle to land on Mars, or lifting from the surface.
Likely to landing humans on Mars will need to attract commercial space companies such as SpaceX. However, NASA experts say that hope to get help from the U.S. government.
