NASA sent the Rover to the US tour
NASA will organize a special tour for US cities, thanks to which everyone will be able to look at the concept of the Rover. The tour organizers will promote future manned missions to the Red planet.
“Experts believe that the first man to set foot on Mars has already been born” — said during a demonstration of the concept in the tourist complex Kennedy Space center Rebecca Shireman, assistant Manager of public relations.
Further the car will go on exhibit in Atlanta, Washington, new Jersey and new York. It is made of aluminum and carbon fiber, the power of the Rover is provided by solar panels and batteries, and he himself is divided into two parts, one of which is used as a laboratory and the other for the exploration of the soil.
The concept of the Rover was developed by SeaDek and Parker brothers with the direct participation of experts of NASA. The aim of the developers was to create a car that will “take into account the problems of travel to Mars,” said Shireman. One of the features of the car are wheels that are designed specially for movement on the Martian Sands.
The Rover will return to the tourist complex at Kennedy space center in Florida after completing a tour this fall. In fact, this particular Rover will never fly to Mars, it’s only a concept, but NASA hopes that its characteristics can be included in future projects. The space Agency says that their next Rover will land on Mars in 2020 to look for signs of past life and collect geological samples.
