NASA released a spectacular picture of clouds on Jupiter

NASA обнародовало впечатляющий снимок облаков на ЮпитереThe photo shows a huge gas cloud

The American space Agency NASA has published an impressive picture of the clouds on Jupiter, which was transmitted by the spacecraft Juno.

The photo was taken on October 24 at the distance of 18 906 km from the upper boundary of the cloud cover of the planet. This is roughly the distance between new York (USA) and Perth (Australia). The image scale is about 12 km per pixel.

The photo depicted a huge gas clouds, turbulence, twisted into an intricate spiral. The photo was taken at the time when Juno flew over the Northern hemisphere of Jupiter.

HELP. The probe “Juno” (Juno) was launched in August 2011 and became the second spacecraft put into orbit round Jupiter after Galileo was in orbit of the planet from 1995 to 2003. In early July of last year, the probe is approached to the closest distance to the giant planet and came to a stable orbit around it. Equipment on Board the Juno specifically designed to study the atmosphere of Jupiter, its chemical composition, temperature, motion and other properties. Scientists expect to receive a response to the question, whether this planet is a solid core or increasingly dense atmosphere extends to the full depth.

Jupiter, the fifth planet from the Sun, largest in Solar system. Along with Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, Jupiter is classified as a gas giant. A notable formation in the atmosphere is the Great red spot — a giant storm, the apparent size of which considerably exceeds the diameter of the Earth. Jupiter has at least 67 satellites, the largest of which, IO, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto — were discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610.

Earlier, the probe U.S. space Agency NASA called Juno recorded sounds that occur during contact between the magnetic field of the planet Jupiter and the solar wind. The unit was also able to take amazing pictures of the planet.
In March, the station Juno (Jupiter Polar Orbiter) took a picture of one of the giant vortices on Jupiter to record high resolution.
