NASA announced the cancellation of the launch vehicle Atlas V United Launch Alliance consortium with truck Cygnus, which was supposed to go to the ISS.
The reason for the cancellation of the start was the problem with the hydraulic booster of a rocket in preparation for launch.
It is noted that now the alleged launch date was appointed on 23 March this year, however, it is unknown if it will work before the appointed time to replace all broken components of the launch vehicle Atlas V.
It is noted that especially for this launch was chosen the Atlas V rocket, although from the very beginning considered the Antares-230, developed by a competing company Orbital ATK. But comparing the two media, employees, NASA chose the Atlas V rocket, which features a larger load capacity and reliability.
It should be noted that last year started the launch of Cygnus. At the moment it has been launched about seven ships, but one of the runs was an emergency. Despite this, each ship will be given its own name, which he will give in honor of NASA astronauts.
