The UN has named the country with the highest level of cybersecurity
Singapore’s approach to the issue of cybersecurity is almost perfect, however in other States with high living standards, things are even worse than in developing countries.
To such conclusion experts of the International telecommunication Union of the UN (MES) on the basis of research conducted in the framework of the Global Cybersecurity Index.
The rich countries create fertile ground for cybercrime, however, a developed economy does not guarantee cyber security. On the second place after Singapore in the top ten of countries with a high level of cybersecurity in the United States. This is followed by Malaysia, Oman, Estonia, Mauritius, Australia, Georgia, France and Canada.
The rankings the experts were based on data on the legal and technological organizations in a country, level of education and research, cooperation with other countries and the existence of networks for exchange of information. “Cybersecurity is an ecosystem in which law, organization skills, collaboration and technology should be in harmony among themselves in order to achieve the greatest efficiency,” said the study authors.
The international telecommunication Union (International Telecommunication Union) – a specialized Agency of the UN, the international organization that establishes guidelines in the field of telecommunications and radio, as well as governing the international use of radio frequencies.
