This website over other popular social networks makes young people feel depressed and lonely.
These data are representatives of the Royal society for public health RSPH and the Movement for youth health received by interviewed 1479 people aged 14 to 24 years.
The study was analyzed YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Twitter. From this list the most positive image boasts YouTube. Followed by Twitter and Facebook. But Instagram and Snapchat many respondents linked with concepts such as “loneliness”, “depression”, “anxiety”, “create an external image”.
“I wonder what Instagram and Snapchat have turned out at the end of the rating in the context of mental health and well-being – both platforms are aimed at the image, and, apparently, make the young people feel inferior and alarming,” – said the head of the Royal society of health of Shirley Kramer.
Researchers warn that social networks may exacerbate mental problems in young people, but can have a positive impact.
