It is reported that most of the deaths in Ukraine happen because of alcohol.
The Ministry of health of Ukraine published research in the field of mental health, who conducted the world Bank. According to the data, in Ukraine 40% of male deaths and 22% of women aged 20 to 64 years are the result of alcohol consumption.
International experts examined several Ukrainian regions, Lviv, Poltava and Zaporizhia and based on the obtained data, studied the issues of mental health caused by excessive alcohol consumption.
One of the most frequent causes of death associated with mental disorders and alcohol is suicide. Moreover, Ukraine is today in the TOP ten countries with the highest rates of suicide.
Also, mental disorders affect physical health. In particular, severe depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder and disorders due to alcohol can lead to coronary heart disease, cancers, intentional and accidental injury.
Excessive alcohol consumption often leads to such diseases as tuberculosis, respiratory infections, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, cirrhosis of liver, pancreatitis, epilepsy and diabetes.
In the International medical corps noted that about 75% of the Ukrainians are not qualified mental help, because in a country with enough psychiatrists, not enough qualified psychologists and psychotherapists and social workers.
Not developed a culture of treatment to a psychologist. Due to lack of confidence in the system, information and awareness. Also an obstacle are the high cost of treatment, previous negative experiences and geographical distance.
