Named the ideal age difference for a good marriage

The smaller the difference, the better.

They say that age doesn’t matter for those who really love each other.

However, scientists say that the age difference still affects the strength of relationships.

Scientists from the University of Atlanta (USA) investigated the relationship of 3 thousand people and found a certain pattern: the greater the difference in age of partners, the higher the risk of divorce. This can be explained by the fact that at different stages of life people have different life goals and interests.

So, it turned out that couples with age difference of 5 years are 18% more likely to divorce than couples in which partners of the same age. In couples with age difference of 10 years this percentage increased to 39%, while those whose age difference was 20 years old, the chance to go was close to 95%!

As for the ideal age difference, the researchers claim that this is one year. Such couples a chance to lose is less than 3%.

Still, it’s just statistics. And while scientists examine the patterns, the lovers know that every relationship is unique. In addition, the relationship is influenced by many other factors: the presence of children, habits, life goals and the good old compatibility characters.
