With the beginning of the year the population of Ukraine as of 1 October 2017 fell 149,6 thousand people, amounting to 42 million 275 thousand people.
According to the State statistics service of Ukraine.
It is also noted the increase in the rate of population decline. In January-September of 2017, according to state statistics, in Ukraine, was born 274,9 thousand are children, while over the same period in 2016, the figure was 332,2 thousand children.
During 9 months was recorded natural population decline – 142,6 thousand persons, whereas in January-September 2016 the population decreased by 132 thousand people.
These figures do not take into account the dynamics of population in the occupied Crimea.
