The probability of death of a man connected with his ability to correctly identify the smell.
Scientists from Stockholm University (Sweden) found a way through which people can predict his impending death. According to the authors of the study, the harbinger of death is loss of smell.
Specialists within 10 years watching 1774 Swedes aged 40-90 years. At the beginning of the study, the public was invited to take the test, which was necessary to determine 13 different odors.
The researchers found that the probability of a person’s death was connected with his ability to correctly identify the smell. On average, one incorrect answer on a test means higher risk of death (during study period) eight percent.
According to scientists, the ability to correctly identify odors is an indicator of the healthy functioning of the brain. Irregularities in the latter, experts believe that directly increase the risk of death.
