Rafael Nadal claimed a hard-fought victory over Juan Martin del Potro and was a step away from his third title at the US Open. Along the way, the Spaniard broke a two-match winning streak and the opponent took revenge from the Argentinian defeat in the final of the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
