At the start of the race Pedrosa had held provisional lead. Yet behind the leader worked wonders Frenchman Zarco, Pedrosa was quietly approaching victory. The Spaniard has never fought for his position, and naturally was the first to cross the finish line.
Behind Pedrosa finished Marquez, who was not likely to threaten the position of partner, but her second place mark never gave up.
Top 3 was closed by the rider of the Ducati, Jorge Lorenzo, for which the race in Jerez was the best in the season.
The leader of the season Valentino Russia, Spain faced the loss of a tempo – the Italian has taken only the tenth place and ended a run of podiums.

Valentino Rossi, despite the failure in Jerez, retained the lead in the standings. Legendary Italian two points ahead of his teammate at Yamaha Maverick Viñales. Reigning world champion Marc Marquez caught up to the leaders and the gap from Rossi four points.
