Montenegro brought a loud accusation against Russian intelligence

Two Russians called the organizers of the coup attempt in Montenegro.

The two Russian representatives of special services called the main organizers of preparation of a coup in Montenegro.

This became known during the trial of 14 suspects on charges of attempting a coup, which opened on 6 September in Podgorica.

It is noted that defendants charged with “creating a criminal organization” with the purpose of undermining the constitutional order of Montenegro and to prevent the country’s accession to NATO.

According to prosecutors, two of the Russians are operational staff of military intelligence of the Kremlin. They are also accused of terrorism.

Men identificeret as Edward Shishmakova and Vladimir Popov. They are charged with organizing and coordinating the attempted mutiny in neighboring Serbia. Russian citizens are wanted, they are judged in absentia.
