The ATO forces return fire was not opened.
23 Dec illegal armed groups violated the agreement about the new year and the Christmas truce, after the shelling of the Ukrainian positions on the arc Svetlodarsk, said the speaker staff ATO Basil Labay.
According to him, the enemy has carried out provocative shelling of the Ukrainian positions with the infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and mortars.
Labay added that the ATO forces return fire was not opened.
“This attack did not bear threat of life of our soldiers, but we are always ready to give an adequate response to these provocations,” he said.
Recall that the headquarters of the ATO told about the situation in Donbass from the beginning of a “Christmas” truce. 23 Dec in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions had to begin the truce in connection with the Christmas and new year holidays.
