The German Chancellor called the main condition which must be fulfilled.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel reiterated commitment to the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine, which is impossible without the lifting of sanctions against Russia.
Speaking to reporters at the annual summer press conference, she noted, however, that all restrictions will be lifted as soon as will be eliminated the cause.
“If the Minsk agreement will be respected, it would mean compliance with the conditions required for the lifting of sanctions” — quoted Merkel TASS.
The Chancellor stressed that the most important paragraph of the agreements regards the observance of the ceasefire regime in the Donbass.

In her opinion, the lifting of sanctions would also be helpful, and Germany itself, as the economic impact is a double-edged sword.
