Meeting “Norman Quartet” at the level of Deputy Ministers, scheduled for March 24.
Russia refuses to participate in the scheduled meeting of “Norman four” in Paris at the level of Deputy Ministers, but the format participants intend to still hold the meeting without her.
This was informed on Wednesday in Washington the first Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim pristayko, reports the correspondent of UKRINFORM.
The Quartet is not out – Russia is not coming. Those are the questions that we are right now as we speak, if there is no participation of one of the four countries,” – said the representative of Ukraine on the sidelines of the Ministerial meeting of the Global coalition to counter ISIL at the U.S. capital.
He noted that he discussed this in Washington with representatives of the foreign ministries of France and Germany. Answering the question whether the postponement of this meeting due to the lack of Russia, the representative of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine said, “No, I think we will hold”.
Pristayko stressed the importance of holding the next meeting in Paris. “But if Russia believes that she has nothing to say at the table, “Norman Quartet”, whose leaders agreed on holding the meeting, then we will hold it specially, specifically we say in the absence of (the Russians – ed.) what we can do,” stressed the first Deputy head of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
He also said that technically in Paris will be attended by representatives of all four groups. In addition, there is planned a participation of the head of the Special monitoring mission of the OSCE, which will come in order to make a report on the current situation.
As you know, the meeting “Norman Quartet” in the French capital was scheduled for March 24.
