Meeting Chaly and Volcker: the diplomats discussed the entry of peacekeepers in the Donbass

Roan and Walker also discussed the situation caused by Russian aggression in Eastern Ukraine.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly discussed the situation in Donbas with the US special envoy on Ukraine with Kurt Volker. It is reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

“The diplomats discussed the situation caused by Russian aggression in the Donbas and further steps for the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in particular through the introduction of peacekeeping mission under the auspices of the United Nations”, – stated in the message.

We will remind that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko sure that the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass will be placed throughout and will block the supply of troops and weapons to militants.

Earlier, the President stated that the relevant law proclaims peace and key political and diplomatic path, despite the fact that he reglamentary and the military aspect.

October 4, the President has submitted to Parliament two draft laws concerning the situation in the Donbas. The first involves the internal policy of Ukraine in the occupied areas, the second peaceful settlement of the situation there.

The Verkhovna Rada has supported the basis of the so-called draft law on de-occupation of Donbass (officially No. 7163 “On peculiarities of state policy on ensuring state sovereignty of Ukraine on the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts”), 6 Oct.
