Remember the classic horror movie “puppet Master” in 1989 for directing David Smeller? The picture resulted in the cult horror series that is still alive. A couple of months ago we wrote about the fact that filming a new part started in March, and now can share photos of the main actors of the film. Who is it? Dolls, of course.
At the recent Dallas event Texas Frightmare Weekend dedicated to the genre of horror in its various manifestations, the creators of the film “puppet Master: the smallest Reich” revealed an updated version of the famous puppet villains (blade and Driller), as well as a completely new character that looks like a mixture of frogs, and a sinister clown. In addition, in the photo you can see the team working on the picture.
Interestingly, the film is neither a direct sequel nor a remake of the old tapes. The story evolves in a parallel universe relative to the original cycle.
In the center of the plot will be a young man who finds a battered doll in a cupboard at the sick brother. Hero wants to sell the doll at the Convention in Oregon, where celebrating the 30th anniversary of the famous murders of Toulon. But during the auction the mysterious force that animates all for sale dolls that are a bloodbath.
Well, it’s interesting. I confess, I still was not a fan of “master of puppets”, but it is never too late to become one, isn’t it? Fortunately, I love the professionally done practical effects and animatronics, and the “smallest state” (very nice name, by the way) both promised in large quantities. Besides, in the film he will star Udo Kier, the actor, famous for roles in such films as “Suspiria”, “shadow of the vampire”, “blade” and “Iron sky”. Veteran horror play master of puppets, the Supreme villain of the French-speaking Nazi by the name of Toulon.
Directing the project took on Sonny Laguna and Wiklund, Tommy (author of the Thriller “We are freaks”), and the script has been written by S. Craig Thaler (Director and script writer of “Bone Tomahawk”).
Release date is not yet known, but we really do not miss it, to be sure.
