Mazda will bring to the motor show in Tokyo a new concept

The novelty will be the successor to the discontinued RX-7 and RX-8 and get a rotary engine.

Mazda company will bring to the motor show in Tokyo which opens on October 25, the new concept.

It is expected that sales of the production version of the car will begin in 2020. The novelty will be the successor to the discontinued RX-7 and RX-8 and get a rotary engine. According to unofficial sources, the planned capacity of the motor about 450 horsepower. The unit needs to solve three main problems of previous motor: high consumption of oil and fuel, low environmental and poor torque in the middle rpm range.

Also, Mazda plans to develop its first ever electric car. The premiere of such a machine to be held in 2019. At the moment we know only that the machine design will be similar to the concept RX—Vision and the new CX-5 crossover. Most likely the car will not be developed from scratch. An electric version will get the existing Mazda.

In addition to 2021, Mazda plans to start production of rechargeable hybrids. It is not excluded that the propulsion of such vehicles will include an electric motor and a rotary motor.
