The judicial Committee of UEFA announced the names of referees who will serve the match of the group stage of the Champions League between Manchester city and Shakhtar.
Main referee of the match appointed Manoel de Souza and his judging panel included Meskita Alvaro and Ricardo Santos (assistants), Carlos Sistra and Fabio Verissimo (additional referees) and Nuno Pereira (fourth official).
Manuel de Souza serves European Cup matches from the 2006-2007 season in 10 years, the Portuguese only just crossed with the Ukrainian clubs. In the 2015-2016 season Shakhtar in the third qualifying round of the Champions League on the road painted a goalless draw with Fenerbahce. Last year, de Souza came to
Odessa on the qualifying match between the national teams of Ukraine and Finland (1:0).
Match “Manchester city” – “Shakhtar” will be held next Tuesday, September 26. Clubs will hold the first in-person meeting, and the winner of the match will make a serious bid to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
