Criminal punishment awaits only those who beat the guards, said the Prosecutor General.
Former Odessa Governor Mikhail Saakashvili will be arrested and deported for crossing the border of Ukraine with violation of the order.
About that Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko said at the YES conference.
“I, as attorney General, declare – Saakashvili will not be arrested in the case, Saakashvili cannot be extradited from this country, still has a residence permit or other document which he filed,” – said Lutsenko.
He also said that criminal cases be opened against those who used force against the guards, and those who “transported Saakashvili crossed the border” will not be arrested.
“Those who beat Ukrainian border guards, will have to deal with the criminal case and will be arrested. And have to sit for seven years. To all politicians remember – and you need to hold a meeting, but you can not beat the soldiers and officers that protect the border. Therefore, in this case – crime, in all other respects – a fine and court”, – Lutsenko added.
