According to Lutsenko, there are circumstances that impede the extradition of Saakashvili.
Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko declared that ex-traditional checking previously shown the existence of circumstances, which prevent extradition of ex-head of the Odessa regional state administration of Mikheil Saakashvili in Georgia.
He said this during a briefing in Kharkiv.
“Previously, I believe that such circumstances (preventing extradition – ed.) there are, as Mr. Saakashvili after illegally crossing the Ukrainian border has submitted documents to the migration service of the interior Ministry that in accordance with our international obligations prevent his extradition,” – said Lutsenko.
According to him, all these circumstances will be carefully considered and form the basis of the response of the Ministry of justice.
“This procedure will take several weeks,” – said the Prosecutor General.
