Lukashenko reacted harshly to the threat to Medvedev. Video

The President of Belarus said Russian Prime Minister what will happen if Moscow will raise the Minsk gas prices.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that his country will take retaliatory measures if Russia increases the gas price for Belarus. According to him, “the price is incredibly higher than the price of natural gas.

He stated this during a meeting with the leadership of the country on 9 March.

– I was most surprised by the statements of my friend Medvedev. By the way, we already begin to fear that natural gas we buy at European prices. The type that will not pay $ 150, and $ 200. You know, like a hint of all – first of all, Russia and Belarus – that we are freeloaders in Russia: there, you see, they do us some kind of gift… Medvedev should understand that if we pay in Europe for something he, too, will have to pay. The price is incredibly higher than the price of natural gas, – said Lukashenko.

According to Lukashenko if Russia wants to build a unified state with Belarus, everyone should have equal rights.

– If someone clever out there thinks that we can constantly bend down and put on the knees, this will not happen, he concluded.

We will remind, on 7 March, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has hinted that members of the Single economic Union (eau) could buy Russian gas at higher prices. Now Belarus, which is included in the EAC and has an agreement with Russia about the “Union state” pays Moscow $ 150 per cubic meter of blue fuel. In 2017, Gazprom plans to sell gas to the EU at $ 180-190 per cubic meter.
