Lukashenko threatened to leave the Chinese market if the Rosselkhoznadzor lifted the restrictions.
The Agency has repeatedly imposed restrictions on the supply of products from Belarus due to inconsistencies of quality and safety.
MINSK, 21 February. /TASS/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the Belarusians will increase food exports to China, if Russia would continue the practice of introduction of restrictions of supply on the market. He said this on Friday at a meeting with Governor of Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov.
“We trade not only in Russia, already very much in the EU, but even more with China. So Dankvert [head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert] I must say that stopped us to rot, and then we’ll go just for the Chinese market”, – said Lukashenko.
The Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed restrictions on the supply of food from Belarus, pointing to the discrepancy of production to requirements of quality and safety. Russia is the main buyer of Belarusian agricultural products and food. By the end of 2019 exports to Russia amounted to $4.3 billion (78% of total) and grew by 3% compared to the 2018.
