Authority of the city of Auckland in New Zealand were forced to release a statement warning all residents that when crossing railway tracks need to look at both sides, as modern trains are so silent that people can’t hear even at a distance of meters.
The need for this warning occurred after a local resident literally did not notice the approaching composition. The train was so quiet that people simply have not heard.
Life in the city is life in the noise, and people have become accustomed to it. But now, with the advent of electric vehicles and trains, the person has to consider that some modern vehicles produce much less noise, and often does silent.
The U.S. Department of transportation ordered by the end of 2019, all the manufacturers of electric motors integration in machines generators artificial noise so that pedestrians could not see to understand, where is the car. It seems that the New Zealand authorities need to do something in the same spirit with the trains.
