Lithuania started building a huge fence on the border with Russia

Now preparatory work is underway.

As noted, the fence will be installed all along the 109-kilometer border, and in those places where the border runs by land.

A fence over a length of 46.6 km, which runs along the state border of Lithuania with the Kaliningrad oblast of the Russian Federation, just over 1.3 million euros will establish a Lithuanian company Gintreja.

Work should be completed before December 20 of this year the fence will be installed all along the 109-kilometer-long state border of Lithuania with Russia, passing on the Neman river, and in those places where the border runs by land.

At intervals along the border with the Kaliningrad oblast will be constructed of metal segment fence approximately two meters with additional equipment.

All along the 109-kilometer border along the Nemunas border guard service of Lithuania has already established a technical monitoring system.
