Lviv city Council has signed agreements with five cities in Lviv region on the export of 1.9 million tons of waste. As the press service of the city Council, overwhelmed in the city are 165 container grounds of 1237.
According to the mayor of Lviv Andrey Sadovyi, all contracts are signed for short periods, and the city needs long-term contracts for waste disposal.
“Long-term contracts we have. Any contract signed by our carriers more than 3-5 days, because once there are protests. We help a little town in the area, but they have little resources,” said Garden.
According to him, the issue of export of waste from the city is not solved systematically.
“There is no systemic solution. That is, we lifted the blockade for a week, but I understand that next week we will again begin to “clamp”. Until the state level will not address the question of what system to take out waste, we will have a very difficult situation,” – said the mayor of the city.
