In the model range of the Japanese manufacturer, the novelty will take the place of the CT 200h and will compete with the Audi Q2.
Lexus will develop the production version of the crossover UX. This was told by Executive Vice-President Yoshihiro Sawa. According to a top Manager, the new product will be aimed primarily at the youth audience.
“We are doing this car. Expect serial UX in a short time,” said Sawa.
All specifications of the crossover are still kept secret. The production version of the car in the lineup of Lexus will be replacing the CT 200h will compete with the Audi Q2. Earlier, the Japanese registered the indexes UX200, UX250 and UX250h. This suggests that the car will receive a hybrid version and modification with the 2.0 – and 2.5-liter engines.
The concept s was first shown at the motor show in Paris in September 2016. The design machine was engaged in the European division of Lexus. The car received a hinged door, led optics and massive rims. The car has no rear view mirrors — instead, the novelty has received a special camera.
