State lawyer of former President Viktor Yanukovych wants to see him in Rostov-on-don.
About Maxim Gerasim said at today’s hearing on the case of treason Yanukovych.
The defender noted that the standards of work of attorneys demand that it be required to hold a confidential meeting with the client to harmonize the legal position. “I have my duty to go and coordinate a legal position,” – said the lawyer.
Gerasim noted that after the last court session, held September 21, was trying to find out address and phone of Yanukovych the Prosecutor’s office, but was refused. So he contacted the law office Aver Lex, which also protects the former President, and received the address where the alleged home of his client.
In this regard, he asked the court to allocate funding for the trip to Rostov-on-don. The petition provoked laughter prosecutors, and the court decided to deny Gerasko in this request.
After the trial, the lawyer told reporters she will appeal with the same request to the Center is free legal aid.
The hearing in the case of Yanukovych on Wednesday, September 27, lasted only an hour, because Gerasko appointed another meeting. The trial will continue on September 28.
