Ukrainian center “Phoenix” Oleksiy Lane can’t take credit for last season in the National basketball Association.
Contract year is a special time for every player, playing in the NBA, but this is the last chance to prove themselves to potential employers. Often, players mobilize their forces and give the best seasons in his career, to get a good contract and secure their future. Unfortunately, Alexei Lanam this did not happen – Ukrainian, to put it mildly, had not the most convincing of the season and forced to question his readiness for greater challenges.
In his fourth season in the NBA Lani had 77 match (34 – in the starting five). Compared to the previous year playing time Ukrainians declined, he began to trust less shots in the attack, and that’s the situation when the main center “Phoenix” Tyson Chandler misses the last six weeks of the season. 8.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game – a bit like the player four years ago in the draft selected under the fifth peak.
It is not wrong to say that Lane often he had deprived himself of the opportunity to be on the court. In every fifth match of the Ukrainian collected at least five fouls and only six games spent more than 30 minutes.
Lane last season scored 11 double-doubles and 26 times scored double-digit points. For comparison: last year Alex gave 19 double-doubles and 35 times scored at least 10 points per game.
Before the start of last season Alexey Lang could sign with the “Phoenix” long-term contract approximately $ 80 million. Now Ukrainian just have to dream of those numbers. However, there are also positive moments – the forthcoming summer Lane can break from the ranks of the hopeless outsider and get into a team with greater challenges than fighting for the top pic in the draft.
