Lamborghini plans to develop the first electric sports car. It is reported by Automotive News, citing the head of the brand Stefano. According to him, if the project will be given the “green light”, the premiere of environmentally friendly car will take place not earlier than 2025.
“Electrification is an area of focus for us. However, I do not expect that the premiere of such a vehicle can be held in the near future”, — said a top Manager. According to him, the main difficulty in creating such a machine is the need to balance the weight and dynamic performance supercar.
The company does not exclude that the new product can borrow the powertrain from the Porsche Mission E. In this case, the vehicle will receive two electric motors. The total capacity of the machine can reach 600 horsepower. This power plant should provide Lamborghini supercar acceleration to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds.
