The Kremlin is using the situation with the Ukrainian hostages specifically to exert pressure on Ukraine. This was stated today in the river, the representative of Ukraine in the tripartite contact group in Minsk, Leonid Kuchma.
“They use it to put pressure on Ukraine. You know of the latest conditions – give us 43 people that have no relationship to the area of the ATO, ie who shot at us on the Maidan, those who are related to the tragic events of may 2 in Odessa. Therefore, we cannot take this step,” – said Kuchma.
He podcherknul that in Minsk Ukraine is a serious group of negotiators, in particular, the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian sub-group the Minsk process Irina Gerashchenko.
“She knows how to defend the interests of Ukraine”, – said Kuchma.
He did not call the next time of liberation of the Ukrainian hostages, calling it a “patient problem” for Ukraine.
