At the end of March, the Expert Committee of the NOC of Ukraine noted the achievements of the Ukrainian gunmen at the European Championships in Maribor. Slovenian national team brought home two silver medals – awards of continental superiority noted Elena Kostevich (shooting from a pneumatic pistol on 10 meters) and Oleg (air rifle, 10 m).
After analyzing the performances of the two athletes of the NOC of Ukraine after consultation with the Federation of shooting of Ukraine adopted a decision to recognize the best athlete of the month Kostevich.
On the way to the medals of the European championship winning Ukrainian the arrow knocked the current Olympic champion Anna Arakaki, but in a shootout for the gold Kostevich was no match for Soranou Aronovich, setting a world record.
Elena Kostevich the fourth time receives a monthly award from the NOC. Previously the owner of gold medals from Olympic games, world and European Championships and was voted the best by the end of may-2011, Feb-2012 and Oct-2012.
Recall, the best athlete in the January version of the NOC of Ukraine has become a biathlete Yulia Jim, and in February, the monthly award was given to her colleague Olena Pidhrushna.
