Zhitniy and Vladimir markets will be closed for reconstruction.
The buildings in Vladimir and rye markets in Kyiv will be reconstructed in accordance with the decree of the Chairman of KSCA Vladimir Klitschko No. 916.
First Deputy head of Kyiv city state administration Gennady PLIS stated that the building of the Vladimir market was commissioned in 1968, the overhaul was conducted nearly half a century. “After inspection we found out that they need major repairs, and the building in General, and the trading room – reconstruction,” he said.
According to him, the overhaul was not carried out nearly 40 years in the building of the rye market structures require strengthening, roof and heating system – overhaul, and is a reconstruction.
He noted that at the time of commissioning the building of the rye market was a modern masterpiece of architectural thought, but today is obsolete, has lost its appeal and is used inefficiently.
“Development of appropriate design documentation for the further reconstruction of buildings will be at the expense of the city budget. After approval of this documentation will be updated and the cost of the works themselves. However, I can say that the estimated cost of repairing the trading floor of each building is about 35 million. We also plan to raise funds other entities and investors”, – said FPGA.
